Abbas: Unacceptable acceleration of colonization

The intention of Israel to accelerate the construction of colonies on Palestinian territory before it is lost "not acceptable", said today in Paris, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

"This is not acceptable. We freeze colonization and the opening of the final phase of negotiations," Abbas told reporters after meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Abbas said that it was the main topic of today's talks with Sarkozy.
Asked whether he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjaguom, Abbas said that it would "depend on previous steps and measures regarding the freezing of colonization."
"Is Netanyahu partner or not? We will work with him as with the Prime Minister of Israel and work with Israel as a country that wants peace," said Abbas.
"We are ready to be partners if the Palestinian people can get their rights and establish an independent state, living next to Israel," said the Palestinian leader.
From Netanjahuovog cabinet today announced that it wants to accelerate the colonization of the West Bank before it is partially suspended. Paris condemned the plan, saying it was contrary to the promises of Israel and the peace process.
