Chinese dissident 13 years in prison

Chinese dissident who tried to organize a meeting of the banned China Democratic Party was sentenced to 13 years in prison for attempted subversion of state power, his lawyer said on Wednesday. Xie Čangfa (57), was arrested in June last year, his trial began in April 2009 a court in Hunan verdict was reached on Tuesday.

China Democratic Party was founded in 1998. year and is prohibited only after six months of existence by the ruling Communist Party. Most of the founders of the party was then arrested and sentenced to 13 years prison, on charges that they tried to sabotage the state.
