Earthquakes in Albania

Earthquake intensity by 5.4 degrees Richter scale last night hit the northwestern part of Albania. No human casualties but destroyed about 1,000 homes.

The northwestern part of Albania, on the border with Macedonia last night hit the 5.4 degree earthquake on Richter scale, there are news agencies, claiming that the attack caused great material damage but no human casualties.

The earthquake destroyed about 1,000 houses, said the seismological institute in Tirana.

Epicenter, registered in 23 hours and 49 minutes was near the village of Dibra, which is located about 100 kilometers northwest of Tirana, said Albanian seismological institute.

According to the statement of local authorities, destroyed two houses and damaged several of them. Quake felt in central and northern Albania, and after the main shock felt several small ground shaking.
