Ice Shelf in the east Greenland fast sliding towards the sea

Ice Shelf in the East Greenland high-speed sliding towards the sea, which is another sign of global warming, said the international organization for environmental protection Greenpeace, whose ship the end of the Greenland expedition.

The organization added that the glacier Helhajm, six kilometers long and one kilometer thick, moving at a speed of 25 meters per day, or twice faster than the 2005th when was the previous Greenpeace expedition.
Wind Kangerdlugsuak glacier, also in the east of Greenland, still higher - 38 meters per day.
That is three times more than the 2004th year, said Greenpeace.
"Kangerdlugsuak glacier is probably the fastest," said climatologist Gordon Hamilton of the University in the U.S. state of Maine.
In these two glaciers is ten percent of the Greenland ice. Wind ablation affects the sea level and ocean that rises three millimeters per year.
