America loses the war in Afghanistan

Supreme Allied Commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, General Stanley Mekristal, warned that the mission in that country if the collapse does not change the strategy if you do not send reinforcements of 40,000 troops. On the other hand, the U.S. president Barack Obama is closer to the decision to send 10,000 instead of 40,000 troops. Such an attitude analysts estimate the U.S. leader as the first stage in the complete withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan.

According to foreign media, Obama leads in recent days of intensive talks with senior officials of his country to prepare a new strategy for Afghanistan. It is the dilemma of whether to listen to his generals or Vice President Joseph Biden. Generali seeking reinforcements, and Biden has a plan to instead focus on Pakistan and strictly limited to anti-terror operations against Taliban and Al Qaeda.

Otherwise, the war in Afghanistan began after the terrorist attacks of 11th September 2001. at the New York and Washington. Military invasion of Afghanistan had a goal to catch Osama bin Laden, to destroy Al Qaeda and to remove the Taliban regime. Of the three goals was successfully performed only the last - the Taliban were deposed from power, and now leads the country pro-American President Hamid Karzai.

Despite this, the Taliban continue to fight against the sharp U.S. and NATO forces, which as a result of a huge number of casualties, mainly civilian. According to the United Nations, the number of civilians who have died since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan reached 32,057. A large number of civilians killed in August this year, before, during and after the election at which the current President Karzai won another term.
