Cisco buys Tandberg ASA

Cisco Systems is a few days ago revealed plans to buy Norwegian company Tandberg ASA for $ 3 billion in its attempt to dominate the global market when it comes to equipment for video conferencing. Cisco is largely focused on the market of equipment for video conferencing, which sells the TelePresence system with multiple plasma screen showing images of life-size participants in order to ensure that the experience of face to face communication. With Tandberg Cisco plans to become a leading manufacturer of video systems, from small videotelephone to complete technical equipment for conference rooms.
