Messina - The storm that hit southern Italy was 14 killed, 40 were injured and 10 people are missing. The hardest hit was the city Messina in Sicily. Heavy rain is falling on Thursday night and Friday morning and caused landslides, several buildings was destroyed, and at least a hundred people had to flee their homes.
Rescuers used dogs in search for missing persons, and impedes their efforts to which the affected area may be reached only on foot because many roads and railways are still cut. Mayor Messina Giuseppe Buzanka said that his city cut off due to rain and flood which washed away many roads and damaged railway track.
President of the Province of Messina Nani Ričevuto told reporters that the situation in this area dramatically.
