Ban Ki-moon called for action against climate change

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged world leaders to take urgent measures to combat climate change, "because the future of mankind."

Ban, who is visiting Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic, warned that the region under the Norwegian government may remain completely ice-free within 30 years if current climate trends continue, the Reuters reported.
The first man tries to win UN support for a comprehensive agreement to limit emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), which should be agreed at a summit of the organization in December in Copenhagen.
The said agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol after its expiry 2012th year.
"I would like to point out that the world needs to take urgent measures in Copenhagen. We have no time to lose," said Ban, adding that he wants the leaders to agree on "a global agreement that will be comprehensive, fair and balanced for the future of mankind and the planet Countries ".
The aim of the talks in Copenhagen will be a handshake sharp limits CO2 emissions, maintenance, climate change and the tolerable level of agreement on the mechanism for effective transfer of technology to reduce CO2 emissions from rich to less developed countries.
