UN claim and Hamas blamed Israel for war crimes

Supranational organizations in the report states that the extensive evidence can be clearly concluded that Israel committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, and that is responsible for similar actions and the Palestinian Hamas

Panel of the Council of the United Nations for Human Rights accused Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas war crimes during the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip last winter. At the meeting, the panel pointed out that Israeli soldiers killed at least 1400 civilians in its offensive.

Four-team of the UN, chaired by South African Judge Richard Goldstoun, sent a call to the Security Council to order Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas to carry out an investigation of alleged crimes. If both sides refuse to do something within six months, the panel will submit evidence to the prosecutor of the International Court of Justice, it was agreed at the meeting.

The report, which is 574 by the panel accused Israel of deliberately killing civilians in mosques and schools, as well as the destruction of agricultural crops and factories, including the only factory for the production of flour in the city of Gaza. The panel also reported that Israeli soldiers put cover the eye and hands handcuffed Palestinian civilians, which are then used as human shields during the attack in insecure facilities.

"There is strong evidence that the Israeli defense forces committed many serious violations of international law," said Goldstoun at a news conference in New York. "Our mission has concluded that war crimes and, in some cases and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli security right forces. "

Goldstoun, however, said that the meeting discussed about the deadly consequences of firing of Palestinian rockets on Israeli territory that are "causing murder and injury of civilians and damage to civilian infrastructure." The mission was "concluded that these actions can also be characterized as war crimes and, possibly, as crimes against humanity".

The report also states that the conflicting Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas carried out a series of mutual political attacks, and employed methods of torture and political killings against members of opposing options. Official Palestinian mission to the United Nations says that Palestinians study the report and not yet ready to give comments. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel says that mentioned UN mission does not require legitimacy for its bias directed against Israel, and because they fail to Hamas strategy sacrificing civilians in war.

Israel has refused to cooperate with Goldstounovim panel and did not allow investigators to take statements from witnesses in southern Israel and Gaza Strip, who still come to Gaza through Egypt. Tel Aviv said that the rocket and bomb attacks in southern Israel during the war, killed three civilians and one soldier in Gaza nine soldiers.

State Department spokesman Jan Kelly refused to make a statement about how the U.S. will react to Goldstonov call for an investigation, and any comment regarding the aforementioned report of the panel. It is, however, conflict in the Gaza Strip, which began in late December and ended in January, described as "tragic", because of loss of life on both sides. "Mr. Goldstoun expressed several serious charges and we need some time to study," said Kelly.

UN Panel report focused on 36 incidents in which Israeli troops have performed "wanton, disproportionately, or conscious," said Goldstoun journalists. He recalled one attack Israeli forces when the soldiers mortar through the door of the mosque killed 15 and caused violations of believers other people who were in religious sites, adding that there were no facts which indicated that the mosque occupied by militants or that the it was used for storing weapons.

The panel also pointed out the Israeli throwing bombs in a house full of family Vaela el Samunija 5th January, when he was killed 21 civilian, and when the Israeli forces prevented international humanitarian agencies to assist injured.

The report said that potential witnesses and Palestinian military activity in the Gaza Strip were not willing to talk about it, but claims that Palestinian militant groups working in urban areas populated civilians ispaljujući missiles at targets in Israel.

Chairman of the panel, Judge Richard Goldstoun, says UN mission conducted an extensive investigation into the armed actions of both sides, obavivši 188 interviews, pregledavši more than 10,000 pages of documentation appropriate and 1,200 photos. Since Israel refused to let investigators into the country, the UN Council for Human Rights has decided to pay Israeli witnesses, including victims of Palestinian attacks, to testify in Geneva. Israel has from the beginning sought to discredit the UN mission, insisting on the belief that the UN Council for Human Rights for a long time sabotaging Tel Aviv.
