A court in Quebec sentenced a Canadian to life in prison because he killed a woman in a wheelchair while driving drunk, which is the first such verdict in the history of Canada.
Roger Walsh, 57 years old, was found guilty for the death of 47-year-old woman in a wheelchair who broke into a ditch after it was struck on his car. Walsh, who admitted to drinking that night, he continued to drive and was arrested about ten miles away as he himself fell into a ditch.
Volšovih 18 previous convictions for violation of traffic rules and 114 convictions for assaults, threats, theft and burglary were entered in the record. The judge said it was as nepopravljivog offenders and said it was likely to commit more crimes.
