Geneva - The Geneva began the World Conference on climate - so that the world elections with global warming and the dangers such as floods, fires and increasing sea level.
The aim of the conference, which will last until 4 September, is to improve the monitoring of weather conditions and forecast delivery, especially to help poor countries to adapt in such areas as health, agriculture, fishing, Trasporti, tourism and energy, reported Reuters.
"We need a formal system in which everyone can trust, to get important information that could save their lives and protect property and the economy," said Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization Michel zaro in connection with the global system for climate services for which should reach agreement in Geneva.
Because of the absence of such a system, people who live on the coast, for example, are sometimes not notified in time to come storm, so the rush of cyclone "Nagris in May killed 84,000 people in Myanmar, said the British agency.
Zaro pointed out that since such a system would benefit both government and private sector, individuals, farmers and all of whose decisions depend on the weather.
The conference will participate in about 2,500 delegates, mainly scientists, and the last two days and about 20 leaders and ministers from 80 countries. It is expected that by the end of the conference reached agreement on the introduction of a global early warning system for the vulnerable and the establishment of working groups to deal with the details of the system.
